The information we collect includes:

5. Cobler Academy Accounts

When you create a Cobler Academy account (via Google sign-in or an emailed sign-in link — we never store passwords), we store your email address and any profile details you choose to add: name, certificate name, company, phone number and job title. If you use the academy, we also store your course progress and your event registrations, including their payment status.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion removes your profile, sign-in identity, sessions and course progress immediately. Event registration and invoice records are retained for tax and accounting purposes but are unlinked from your deleted account.

Newsletter subscription is a separate consent: signing in never subscribes you, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email or the toggle on your account page — independently of whether you keep your account.

6. Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to understand how people use this website so we can improve it. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your device and browser type, your approximate location (country or city), and clicks on our contact links and forms. Google works out the approximate location from your IP address; Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

Google Analytics only sets cookies if you choose “Accept” in the cookie notice. The cookies are:

  • _ga: tells one visitor apart from another. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_* (for example _ga_67H95CBV4N): keeps track of your current visit. Expires after 2 years.

If you choose “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive basic signals without cookies or identifiers (such as a page view), which it uses only for overall statistics.

Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for the retention period set on our account, at most 14 months. Summary reports (such as monthly page views) may be kept longer.

Your browser also remembers your cookie choice and how you first found our site (for example “google” or “linkedin”). This stays in your browser and is sent to us only as a short source label with contact forms you submit and with the analytics events above.

Withdrawing consent: click “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “Decline”. You can also delete the _ga cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
